Individual Giving
Individual donations are the largest portion of annual support we receive; thank you. We are grateful for the gifts we receive year-round from audience members and life-long fans. There are several ways to give:

Select your desired amount as either a one-time gift or monthly contribution, complete the transaction, and you will receive both confirmation and acknowledgement of your tax-deductible gift immediately. You may also wish to consider a chair sponsorship, dedicate a piece of music to a friend or loved one, or partially sponsor a full concert!

Building on 77 years of free professional concerts in the Twin Cities and the generosity of donors, the MPOA Board of Directors has taken the strategic step of establishing an endowment dedicated to the Orchestra’s long-term growth and financial stability. This endowment will provide lasting financial support to advance the Orchestra’s mission while helping secure its future for generations to come.
Through planned gifts, estate gifts, and contributions of appreciated assets, you can make an investment that extends far beyond a single concert season. Your legacy gift will help build a permanent source of support, strengthening the Orchestra’s financial foundation and ensuring that free access to professional live orchestral music remains at the heart of our mission for generations to come.
Funding a Season vs. Funding a Future
Your generosity truly makes it all possible, and annual giving remains the largest part of our budget in support of our mission.
Annual Giving
Annual gifts provide immediate support for performances, musicians, and community engagement throughout the current season. They have long been the cornerstone of support for the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra, making it possible to bring inspiring music to audiences year after year.
In addition to individual annual gifts, the Orchestra is also grateful for the support of corporate sponsors, area businesses, and public, private, and government grants and trusts. While these funding sources are essential, they can fluctuate significantly from year to year and are often influenced by changing priorities and economic conditions.
Endowment Giving
Endowment gifts are an investment in and for the Orchestra’s future. Rather than being spent immediately, these gifts are invested to create a permanent source of income that provides dependable financial support year after year.
A strong endowment helps ensure the Orchestra’s long-term financial stability, enabling it to weather economic uncertainty while continuing to pursue artistic excellence. It strengthens the Orchestra’s financial foundation, enhances sustainability, and ensures that the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra can continue enriching our community through exceptional performances and meaningful educational outreach for generations to come.
Stewardship of the Endowment
The Minneapolis Pops Orchestra Endowment is governed by the Endowment Committee of the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra Association Board of Directors. Endowment assets are held and professionally managed by Thrivent Charitable through its Impact Fund™, ensuring prudent stewardship and long-term growth in support of the Orchestra’s mission.
