We Rely on Your Generous Support

The Minneapolis Pops Orchestra Association is an independent, nonprofit [501(c)(3)] corporation, dedicated to funding free summertime concerts. It is the generosity of corporations, foundations, government entities and hundreds of individual donors that sustains and supports this remarkable Twin Cities tradition.

For 70 summers the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra has offered concerts to the Twin Cities community with no admission charge and open to all.

Each summer it seems incongruous to be proud of our free concerts and still ask for donations, but the truth is that the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra is made up of professional musicians, and it cost $158,000 to pay for the 14 concerts we had scheduled for the summer of 2019.  Of that $158,000 approximately 77% is spent directly on the cost of production. Musician wages alone make up 71% of the budget each year. The additional expenses are rehearsal hall rental, music purchase and rental, librarian wages, posters and programs, sound technicians and equipment.

This makes the Pops one of the most financially efficient non-profits around.

Large or Small, Your Gift Brings Music to All
